Máquina de coser eléctrica Swiss Elna 1951 Grashopper en estuche

The machine for sale is a Swiss made 1951 ELNA Sewing Machine. This was the Swiss answer to the Singer Featherweight machine.  It has a folding knee bar that is used instead of the traditional foot pedal (hence the name grasshopper, also due to it's color ).

It comes with a military green metal storage case that fits around the free arm and can be used as a work table. The machine works but needs servicing before using it. It turns slow at the moment so it will need cleaning and oiling , the built-in light works ok.. It is a robust, durable piece that sews through heavy fabric.

Note that this machine only has a straight stitch option. The machine in the box is 30 cm high, 36 cm in length and width 17 cm.

Of course I can not guarantee the machine in anyway as it is over 70 years old. All that I can tell you is that it is a good working machine but it does need some T.L.C.  I once had a lot of problems with a buyer who couldn't get the tension right on an antique machine.
